Social Media in the Point of Sale
What’s a Facebook?
Back in 2006, MySpace and Facebook were growing quickly. The world was beginning to wonder if the social media craze was the future or just a fad. Fast forward to 2013 and Facebook is nearing one billion users while Twitter users are tweeting over 500 million times per day. It’s clearly no longer considered to be a fad, which is why small businesses should be focusing a good percentage of their advertising efforts on social sites. So what is a POS like ZingCheckout doing to help small businesses be more active on sites such as Facebook and Twitter? Well, we’re getting the customer to do it for you.
The Social Listing
You’re probably thinking: “How can my point of sale get our customers to post about our business?”
Easy. Let’s jump into a hypothetical situation. Mary walks into a clothing boutique owned by Abraham. She loves the selection of clothing and the customer service provided by Abraham’s employees. Upon ringing up her order, Abraham asks if she would like to have her receipt emailed or texted to her.
She agrees to have the receipt emailed to her. Shortly after the transaction finishes, Mary receives her email. Within the email is a link that asks if she wants to share the business on her Facebook or Twitter. Delighted by the service she was provided, Mary allows the link to post to her Facebook.
Mary’s friend Joanne sees the post and clicks on the link that leads her to Abraham’s stores’ Social Listing. Joanne has instant access to all she needs to know about the store such as their address and Google Map, upcoming sales, store hours, comments from other fans of Abraham’s store, and much more. Next week, Joanne visits the store and becomes a loyal customer as well. Then the cycle repeats.
The Social Listing is a very powerful feature within ZingCheckout that our customers adore. Interested in learning more about it? Send an email to helpdesk@zingcheckout.com and we can schedule a demo for you!
